The Wedding Circus
I’ve always thought that wedding folks are special. Collaborative, generous, motivated, focused, all for a one night show. Then I realized I had witnessed this energy before, many years ago when I shot a circus. We are basically circus people.
We roll into town. Unpack our gear. Hoist a tent. Put on a show. We have food, music, makeup, dancers. The planner is sometimes a Ringmaster or maybe the lion tamer. The photographer can be the clown or the high wire artist. Sometimes it rains. No matter what, the show goes on. And Monday it’s all gone, as if it never happened.
